Inside thoughts… a concept I am constantly explaining to my children… especially my youngest.
The fact is, some people are better at this than others and some people need to be taught how to do it so they don’t shout out in the supermarket loudly, ‘Mummy, that man has an enormous nose!’ … Queue the floor swallowing me up whole in a crowded supermarket and I’m internally willing it to happen swiftly so nobody sees.
Unlike a four year old, I’m very comfortable with my inside thoughts being on the inside! The constant internal ramblings of my frazzled mum-of-four brain are exhausting, but also a comfort and Substack has been an inside thought of mine for a while now. I’ve really carefully turned the thought over and over, looking at the possibility of creating my own space to share my illustrations and thought processes behind my creativity and so (drum roll please) …after much ruminating… I have softly landed here. A scary thought but I am excitedly going to dip my toe into the cool, cool waters of Substack! I’m dreaming up a diary filled with illustrations and thought ramblings … here goes… wish me luck!
Welcome! I am loving reading other creative people’s introduction posts about seems we’ve all arrived here for the same reasons pretty much. It’s lovely 🥰
That's one advantage to speaking a language with my children that very few other people understand where I live. We can talk about others loudly in supermarkets without concern. 😋
