My World Illustration Awards Interview

A little insider into why and how I created my winning illustrations…

Who knew I would win The World Illustration Awards?!? What an experience! I must admit… I was really nervous when I was asked to do this interview, because I knew some questions would be really difficult for me to talk about, but I surprised even myself and quickly settled into this conversation about why I created ‘Mr Crisps’. Introducing ‘Mr Crisps’. This illustration is 1 of 3 that I submitted to The World Illustration Awards which went on to win the New Talent category in Children’s Publishing.

It’s so heartwarming to know that from such a sad story, something so joyful can be created and enjoyed by so many.

An additional illustration I submitted to The WIA and one animation of ‘Mr Crisp’s Adventures’. My children and I often wondered what adventures Mr Crisps was having now he was no longer with us. We thought up many stories together… these were some of them…
